re: FoG raiding Guide

0
Greetings! This is the FoG raiding Guide , a must read for persons aiming raids.
Hope this can sensitize persons of whats raiding, why raid, & the importance of a united group, among other things. Enjoy the read. wink

1- LOTRO - The fun of raiding:
2- Is raid for me?
3- Availability for raids:
4- Raid, a group, not me, WE.
5- The importance of a united raid.
6- LOTRO Raids: Raids where to start.
7- Experience, none born trained.
8-Classes Guides ( Coming after Isengard)
9- General Info
10- In raid: Once inside raid what you should know.

1- LOTRO - The fun of raiding:

1st of all everyone is here to have a good time, and the main purpose of raid is the persons mix a bit fun with some "hardcore" quests.
The rewards are of course a + in this raids, but if you come raid with us, you should have as main purpose have some fun, the other things come as increase.

2- Is raid for me?

Raid is often "end-game" content, that take more time than almost any other instance/quest...
In means of difficulty/time, are the most exigent quests.
Raiding often demands some effort and so on, so make sure you have the strength to keep fighting!

3- Availability for raids:

To sign up for raids and so on, we often ask persons minimum of 2 hours, and if possible have 3 hours spare. We dont demand more than that.
Sometimes there are some raids that take away less or some that we stay a bit more time, be free to talk with raid leader & inform him, in order to group don't be waiting to long for a replacement.

4- Raid, a group, not me, WE.

When you come raid, you should have in mind that we are 12-24 persons and what matters is WE as a group, cant only thing in ourselves, we need each others & that each of us do our own tasks, otherwise we will never achieve anything.

5- The importance of a united raid.

Is really important have a raid that is united & with a good environment, persons that help each others, give some hints and that.
Please if a person gives you a hint don't take it personal, persons should listen & respect others opinions.
Then if agree or not that is other story.
Always try maintain a good atmosphere, either archive the goal or not, no time to quit!

6- LOTRO Raids: Raids where to start.

They are moreless for the order you should do them wink

That are the LOTRO raids. Some additional info:

@Bogbereth (Spider) Ferndûr (Gaunt Man ) are Bosses, level 50, that are an open "raid" at Angmar. Need to kill some mobs to they respawn so 5-10m for each boss is moreless the time taken.

@Helegrod - Drake Wing // Helegrod - Giant Wing // Helegrod - Spider Wing are 3 scalable 12man raid level 50-65, that takes morelesss 1 hour each, at end you have the final boss fight, you need to defeat each of the bosses at that wings in order to unlock Helegrod - Dragon Wing, the 24 man raid, also level 50-65.

@The Rift of Nurz Ghashu Level 50 raid in Angmar with several bosses, a full run should take around 2-3 hours, with the last boss be the Balrog Tharlauch.

@Filikul (Turtle) level 60 12 man raid in Moria, with Mr Turtlez be the only boss Happy Takes around 5 minutes wink

@The Vile Maw (Watcher) level 60 12 man raid in Moria, with the boss be Watcher & his splash tentacles. Takes around 10minutes if all done correctly.

@Dâr Narbugud level 60 12 man raid in Moria, with 6 bosses fights. Takes moreless 3 hours do to complete run.

@Barad Guldur level 65 12 man raid in Mirkwood, with 3 bosses, and each boss fight having a HM fight.
The difficulty increases in the HM.

@Ost Dunhoth level 65 12 man raid in Enedwaith, with 4 wings & after 2 more bosses.
It has Tier I, Tier II and Tier II Challenge Mode.
The difficulty increases gradually from each Tier and finally CM.

7- Experience, none born trained.

Experience is important for raids, although we all have to start somewhere...
Thats why we advice you to start from 1st raids listed above and keep going,
If you step right away to last raids, 1st you wont enjoy the fun that is make the other raids, and 2nd you probably you wont be as much prepared as could be.

"slow and steady wins the race". wink

8-Classes Guides ( Coming after Isengard)

9- General Info

-----> Gear
A good gear is fundamental for end game content, making you stronger & with that your group.
A tank with a gear with few armour and so on, will make healers have difficulty keeping him alive.

-----> Jewelery
There are very variety of Jewelery, make sure you choose wisely according your class.

-----> Stats

As more higher the stats the merrier. Altough some classes need some stats more than others, so try balance them without be "vulnerable" in one of them

-----> Weapons & Class slots & Class Items

Legendary items have a great impact in raids nowadays, having good legacies / good relics will improve your character a lot and can make the difference in a hard fight.
Also you should use scrolls & change your damage type, and so on to maximize your legendary items potential.

-----> Class stuff

Always bring what your class needs... In case for Captains, heralds armaments, banners, captain tonics & blazoned crests are a must.

-----> Items

There are some items you always should bring with you, in good amounts if possible to never run out. Like:

Scrolls: Warding & Battle Lore , in order to improve offense & defense ratings of all your fellowshp.

Hope Tokens: Hope Tokens are a must for when there is gloom in fights, should ways carry the ones with more hope in them.
Even if not gloom, hope always helps.
Has a direct impact on: Maximum Morale & Damage Dealt.

Food: Always carry food with you, the best you can.
A fortifying food makes your defenses be higher and resist more often, a regeneration food makes you regenerate more power & morale faster & also some other benefits, and there is also stat food, that improve your stats...
All help is welcome in hard fights and a small bonus can be the key.

-----> Virtues
Virtues are very important... It gives you immense buffs in very areas of the game. Learn the fight & see what ones can be more useful for you.

-----> Traits

The traits you choose should be according from what your raid need from you in the fight. A Captain for example has 3 trait lines:

Yellow(Buffs / Tank):Great for maximize your fellowship potential, giving a great variety of buffs and also for tank, giving you more threat and force taunts.

Blue (Healing): Great if your fellowship will need mainly some heals.

Red (DPS): Great if need some serious dps from your captain, it will make critical rises 5%, making you have defeat events skills very often.

-----> Destiny Points
Destiny points can play a important roll in raids.
There is a lot to choose, from: damage bonus, more mitigations, hope, morale, power.... Dont be shy, they are there to be used.

10- In raid: Once inside raid what you should know.

Do your task, each classes have their owns roles.
Always ask if have doubts or need anything, we are here to help each others.
Dont tell other persons what to do unless you are a raid leader, you can ofc give advices but never talk in a authority way.

Always bring the items above listed in order to always be ready to use them if needed and never let the group down.

Pay attention to the tactics, dont talk during the explanation to after you don't let your group down because you weren't paying attention.

Conjunctions: Follow conjunctions unless you are told otherwise.

Some options you also may need:

Forum Image

Forum Image

Enable skill target forwarding
Allows you for example to select boss and pop a heal, that heal will go for the person that has agro, what means the persons mob is attacking.
Or the contrarious it allows you to select a raid assist target for example and use your skills like was attacking him, but instead you are attacking his target.
In the screenshot you can see me using a heal in Pali, without have to select him.

Show the vitals of your selection's target

Allows you to see who your target is attacking. Good for example to see who has agro.
In the screenshot you can see that Pali has boss agro.

Display combat state break notices in chat window

This allows you to see when persons break stun or so on: NOTE: When you use a stun or mezz on a mob that was already cc'ed, wont display.
It appears on chat with default red color.

Forum Image

Show Assist Window

The raid leader can select a person or more as raid assist windows, that allows you to see who they are dpsing, often used to persons follow it and atack same target.
In the screen you see Rucagorn as 1st raid assist and Palidroon as 2nd raid assist.

Detach tooltip

The default key is the H, this is a very nice option in middle of a chaotic battle you can easily select your targets without have to find it.
You select the mob before battle and press H, then it opens a tooltip as you can see then you can click it and it would be like select the mob itself. Very useful also for stunners or for rats know who is the next target, among other stuff like items and so.
